The scars of an untold war

The Tigray war in northern Ethiopia is considered the bloodiest war of the 21st century.

In a period of two years more than 600,000 people were killed, more than 120,000 were subjected to sexual violence, more than 1 million people were forced to flee their homes.

Around 2.3 million children remain out of school in northern Ethiopia and thousands of people have died of starvation.
