▶ BIOGRAPHY
Ximena Borrazás is a Uruguayan photographer and filmmaker documenting humanitarian emergencies and armed conflict, with work across the Central Mediterranean, Ukraine, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, and Ethiopia. Her photography and film work brings visibility to people and communities affected by violence and displacement, adding human context to numbers and headlines.
Her work has been recognized with the Tom Stoddart Award for Excellence (2024), the Africa Mundi Award for Best Photographic Publication of the Year (2025), and two Amnesty International Media Awards (2026), in Photojournalism and Written Investigation.
